Zetor Tractors introduced a new design for its Proxima tractor series at Poland’s Agro Show trade fair in late September. The new tractor, which will made its debut in the Czech Republic in early October at the Czech Ploughing Championship, will enter serial production at the beginning of 2020.
“The Proxima is among our most popular models, which is why we’ve decided to apply the new design on these tractors after the Major range,” Zetor Tractors’ marketing manager, Jakub Hurtar, said. “It’s once again based on the concept we’ve introduced in cooperation with the Italian studio Pininfarina, and we’re definitely looking to use it for other model ranges as well.”
In addition to the new design, the latest Proxima tractors feature many additional improvements, including a unique hood angle and new roof shape that allows the driver a better view from the cab and a better view when working with front loaders. The air-conditioning and heating systems have been improved, significantly improving their effect. Additionally, new material strength improving technologies will be used in the tractors’ production.
The Proxima appeared for the first time in 2004 as a successor of older models. The Proxima Plus came three years later with front and rear axles intended for heavy loads, closely followed by Proxima Power with a new electro-hydraulic reverse gear shifting system.
The new Proxima will be available in CL, GP and HS specifications with power ratings from 76 to 117hp. The new design will gradually be applied to all three models, as well as Zetor’s other model ranges.
“Proxima tractors will find applications in both small- and mid-sized agricultural businesses, in forestry and in municipal roles,” Mr Hurta said. “These are universal tractors with simple controls, ideal for virtually any work. They also excel when working with front loaders.”
