Vicon’s development of its dealer network is continuting with the appointment of Devon-based James Pryce Tractors, with depots in South Molton and Tiverton.
This appointment gives Vicon a greater foothold in the South-west, enabling James Pryce Tractors to sell the entire Vicon range throughout mid-Devon, North Devon and West Somerset.
“We’re delighted to add the Vicon portfolio to our business,” James Pryce Tractors managing director Andy Pryce said. “Vicon is a well-established premium brand with a strong reputation, and its extensive product range now takes us into new territory, both geographically and with a wider range of equipment.”
For the family-run dealership, adding the Vicon franchise gives the company access to an extensive range of grass and crop care machinery, including the revolutionary FastBale non-stop round baler wrapper, in addition to a host of precision farming and ISObus-controlled equipment that dovetails with its existing tractor franchise.
“With the addition of Vicon’s crop care products – high-tech fertiliser spreaders, plus mounted, trailed and self-propelled sprayers – we see the Vicon range providing many new opportunities for our business,” Mr Pryce added. “And a comprehensive list of precision farming and ISObus equipment in the Vicon range lets us reach out to new customers too.”
A former Lely dealer, James Pryce Tractors has been in business since 1976, and has held the Case-IH tractor franchise since 2006. With 19 staff, including three full-time salesmen and 10 mobile and workshop-based technicians, the Devon-based dealer prides itself on keeping up-to-date with specialist product knowledge and support for its expanding customer base.
“We have recently consolidated our brands to help all our staff to make the most of product training, so we can continue to give all our customers the best backup and support,” Mr Pryce said.
Vicon sales manager David Furber reported that the new dealer has got off to a flying start.
“We’re really pleased to be working with James Pryce Tractors,” says David Furber. “This dynamic dealer has already sold a Vicon Extra 736 tractor-mounted mower conditioner and a Vicon iXter 1600-litre B16 sprayer equipped with auto section control.”
