Spread-a-Bale: New Tract-a-Bale launched at Lamma 2018

The new Tract-a-Bale is carried on the three-point linkage.

Spread-a-Bale has launched Tract-a-Bale, a conversion system that provides livestock farmers without a loader a solution for shredding and spreading big bales of straw.

Launched at Lamma 2018, Tract-a-Bale allows Spread-a-Bale’s bale-shredders to be used with conventional tractors on the front or rear three-point linkage with a hydraulic top link, or on tractor fore-end loaders with lift capacity of more than 1,600kg. It allows bales to be self-loaded from ground level.

Tract-a-Bale can be fitted to any of Spread-a-Bale’s four M range shredder/spreader models – the Maxi, Midi, Mini and Super Mini RB1.8.

“Tract-a-Bale will enable all farmers without a telescopic or industrial loader to invest in a Spread-a-Bale unit and take advantage of its benefits – saving straw, saving time, lowering dust levels and the subsequent health risks, and in turn improving animal welfare,” the company’s Michael Hughes said.
