Bobcat: New range of telescopic loaders for agriculture

A new range of telescopic loaders has been launched by Bobcat for the agricultural industry.  Manufactured at the company’s Pontchâteau plant in France and backed by a three-year warranty as standard, it means the company now offers a choice of five new telescopic loader models for the farming market with maximum lifting capacities between 2,600 and 3,800kg, with lifting heights from 6.0 to 7.0m.

The machines have been designated using a new naming system showing lifting capacity/lifting height performance at a glance: there are the TL26.60 and TL30.60 Compact productivity models, and the TL35.70, TL34.65HF and TL38.70HF Productivity and High Flow models.

The majority of the models are also available as Agri versions, with a number of additional features providing higher comfort and productivity to meet most farming requirements.

The new machines are powered by a Bobcat D34 Stage IV compliant diesel engine that was developed in-house and optimised for performance throughout the range.  The compactness of the D34 engine and a new style low-profile engine hood improve visibility on the engine side.

There are five models n the new Bobcat TL3570 telehandler range.

The Stage IV engine offers enhanced performance and is available in three different sizes:

  • A 75hp/325Nm engine model offering cost efficient operation with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) as an after-treatment technology.
  • A 100hp/430Nm engine model for heavy operations, with DOC and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and AdBlue after-treatment technology.
  • A 130hp/500Nm unit utilising DOC, SCR and AdBlue.

All of these engines share the same electronic fuel injection, high pressure common rail technology, turbocharged air management and cooled exhaust gas recirculation for lower emissions, and do not require the use of a diesel particulate filter.

The TL34.65HF is a brand new high-productivity model providing a maximum lift capacity of 3,400kg at the maximum lift height of 6.42m.

HF/High Flow Technology, also available on the TL38.70HF model, offers outstanding hydraulic capabilities and performance with a class-leading 190 litres/min load-sensing pump (150 litres/min at the auxiliary line) and flow sharing distributor. This allows the operator to work at significantly lower speeds, consume less fuel and benefit from remarkably shorter working cycles.  To prevent unnecessary oil heating and power loss, the load-sensing pump supplies oil only when hydraulic power is required.  If required, the full oil volume is available immediately, thanks to a Quick-start system.

Other important performance aspects of the new range include:

  • The TL26.60 and TL30.60 are available with two different overall machine heights with a cab that can be mounted in two different ways – in a low position that results in the very low 2.1 m height or a higher position to optimise visibility.
  • On the TL35.70, which replaces the TL470, there’s an improved load chart providing an additional 500kg (now 3,500kg) of lifting capacity at the maximum lifting height (6.97m).
  • On the TL38.70HF, which replaces the TL470HF, there’s an improved load chart providing a 300kg increase from 3,500kg to 3,800kg in rated lifting capacity.
  • The new power lift system is an efficient lifting technology that optimises the use of hydraulic flows between telescopic boom cylinders to increase the lifting capacity.
  • Automatic parking brake for enhanced safety and operator convenience.
  • Automatic fan inverter, whereby a cycle time can be set for cleaning radiators and the air intake grill; a simple way to maintain efficient cooling.
  • Boom Cushion Retract that automatically slows down the boom speed when the boom is nearly fully retracted or at min/max angles, increasing safety and operator confidence.
  • High comfort air suspension seat, including longitudinal and low frequency suspensions. Many adjustments are available to allow the operator to find the most comfortable drive position.
  • SMS (Speed Management System), which allows the travel speed to be adjusted independently of the engine speed.
  • SHS (Smart Handling System), which allows the speed of the boom movements (lifting, telescoping and tilting) to be adjusted, depending on the type of work being carried out.
  •  AFM (Auxiliary Flow Management), which allows the hydraulic output to be adjusted to match attachment requirements and to set a continuous flow.
  • FCS (Fast Connect System), which provides quick and easy interchange of hydraulic attachments via an integrated pressure-release system.
  • Another standard feature is the ECO mode, which maintains optimum hydraulic performance without using the engine’s full power, adjusting the main machine features to produce a balance between top performance and providing the best performance/fuel consumption ratio.
