Modernised engines and a revised design are among the new features of updated models from Zetor’s Proxima range.
The Proxima tractors include models from 80 to 120hp, and the range has been subject to a number of innovations that give customers a better choice. Three new models are available:
- The Proxima CL has from 80 to 100hp and a basic mechanical PowerShuttle transmission with 12-forward and 12 reverse gears. Also available is a version with a 20-forward/four-reverse creeper transmission or basic 10-forward/two-reverse gearbox.
- The Proxima GP offers from 80 to 110hp and features a mechanical PowerShuttle transmission with two-stage PowerShift.
- The Proxima HS has engines from 80 to 120hp and a transmission with three-stage PowerShift and hydraulic reverser.
The most significant innovation from the new Proxima tractors is that the engines from 90 to 120hp now comply with the EU Stage IV emission standard. Proxima 80 models meet Stage IIIB.
The four-cylinder Zetor engine – which offers torque reserve of up to 43 per cent – maintains all the features that are familiar and appreciated by the customers: it’s a simple solution for simple maintenance and low operation costs. Compliance with the Stage IV emission standard is achieved through the same system that was introduced on the Fortera range, and features a diesel oxidation catalyst, active diesel particulate filter and selective catalytic reduction system. Compared to its competitors, one of the advantages of Zetor engines is that it still maintains simple design without unnecessary electronics.
“Efectiveness is one of the basic pillars of the Zetor brand. In the area of development, we put a great emphasis to offer to our customers as effective solution as possible,” Zetor sales and marketing director Robert Todt said. “This helps them to save their time and money.
“And according to the results of independent testing, this kind of engine offers fuel savings reaching up to 15–20 per cent.”
The fuel tank of the CL and GP models holds 150 litres, while the Proxima HS has 180 litres. The AdBlue tank takes 28 litres.
The innovations on the new tractors also pay attention to the ergonomics and comfort of the tractor user. The cab is still spacious, and the operator gets a new dashboard. Meanwhile, the layout of the external work lamps has been adjusted in order to optimise the illuminated area while working at night. The tractors are also equipped with bigger rear mirrors that allow the operator to have a better view of what’s going on around them.
Production of the Proxima range will begin at the turn of 2016/17. Customers can already order the updated tractors from authorised Zetor dealers now, and the first of the new tractors will be delivered in early 2017.
