Kverneland: Two new heavy-duty four-rotor rakes for 2017

Kverneland Group UK has revealed two new heavy-duty four-rotor rakes for the 2017 season. Offering maximum working widths of up to 15m, the 97150C and 95130C join the 94125C introduced earlier this year.

The three-model range is focused on high productivity, ease of use and durability, in a flexible configuration that allows swath presentation to be varied to suit the needs of forage harvester, baler or forage wagon.

At the top of the range is the 97150C. Equipped with maintenance-free heavy-duty ProLine rotor gearboxes, this new rake features an elbow joint within its front rotor arm construction to allow continuous adjustment of its working width from 9.8 to 15m.

Said to be a key feature of the 97150C, the elbow joints afford lateral movement of the front rotors. This also helps with machine transport – once fully raised, the rotors are folded backwards to achieve the transport position, and this maintains a low overall height of less than 4m without having to remove tine arms.

Equipped with isobus technology, the 97150C flagship is available with the IsoMatch Tellus dual screen terminal or the compact Tellus Go terminal. Operators can alter the working sequence of lifting and lowering the front rotors to simplify headland management. In addition, rotors can be lifted separately or each side’s rotor can be lifted in pairs.

With the addition of a GPS signal, the 97150C rake can learn its position in the field, and this can lead to automated headland sequences that result in a larger machine being much easier to handle. The end result is a neater, higher quality swath presentation.

The smaller 95130C, with its 13m maximum working width is a non-isobus model, but also features maintenance-free heavy-duty ProLine rotor gearboxes. Among its controls are enhanced headland management functions including time delay for lift and lower of the rear rotors. The 95130C also offers hydraulic adjustment of its working width and swath width.

Features common to the range include Terralink Quattro, which that allows the rotors to adapt to any ground contour, allowing the rotor assembly to move three-dimensionally. In addition, all Kverneland rakes are equipped with Duo tines on curved tine arms, which contribute to clean raking performance. Prices for the two new heavy-duty models are still to be announced.
