Blaney Motor Company: New multipurpose vehicle to launch at Balmoral Show

The Blaney Group of Ballymena, County Antrim, is about to take the next step in business growth with the launch of the Blaney Motor Company and a new multipurpose, compact machine specifically designed for manoeuvrability and mobility.

As the first quad bike manufacturer in Europe, the experience Blaney gained in designing and building its own off-highway vehicle provided the company with valuable insights. It practically invented the commercialisation of all terrain vehicles (ATVs), with a vast range of Quad-X attachments that supercharged the potential of these often overlooked machines.

The group is now ready to bring a focus back to the Blaney Motor Company to market a range of multipurpose compact vehicles for the agricultural and construction industry. The launch of new product concepts at the 2016 Balmoral Show forms part of the journey towards the creation of a significant number of jobs at the firm the next few years.

Plans were in place to launch these unique off-road vehicles in 18-months’ time, but given the looming closures of significant manufacturing plants in Ballymena and the negative impact this will have on the local economy, Blaney is bringing forward the employment opportunities sooner rather than later.

These exciting new product concepts are a natural progression from Blaney’s background in off-highway vehicle design and agricultural attachments.

“We have identified a gap in the market both at home and overseas, and following over a decade’s extensive research, we’re pleased to announce the launch of Blaney Motor Company and new vehicle concepts at this year’s Balmoral Show,” the company’s export sales officer, Gillian Bonnar, said. “There will be the opportunity to see the machines and register for upcoming demonstration events.”

The new multipurpose machines are specifically designed to be compact for manoeuvrability and mobility.  Their size allows them to access hard-to-reach areas, while their weight allows them to be transported under 3.5t.

The Blaney Group’s Sean Blaney said he was delighted to be launching Blaney Motor Company’s new vehicle concepts at the Balmoral Show.

“I’m excited to meet the new customers, partners and employees who’ll make this journey with us,” he added. “We’re committed to building a legacy of quality engineering that’ll benefit our investors, suppliers, employees, dealers, local economy, and most importantly our customers.”
