The new Delta Force boom series from Hardi fulfils future farming demands for flexibility in boom widths, high-speed performance, narrow transport width and superior robustness.
Performance, speed and quality are the key words when talking boom designs. In the developing process of its next boom generation, Hardi has analysed and focused on optimising these three areas. The result is the Hardi Delta Force.
With its unique design, it has manage to offer large booms able to drive at high speed while maintaining optimum performance. At the same time, the Delta Force is only 255cm wide in transport. Using high-quality Swedish Steel, Hardi managed to optimise weight and strength, and thereby produced a boom with a perfect setup, low maintenance and great performance.
Stacking the boom, when folding gives the possibility of optimising the relation between the dimension of the boom elements and the space occupied when it’s in transport. When the boom needs less space in transport position, the tank shape can be optimised for a lower centre of gravity that gives a better driving performance. The high and wide boom elements give extra strength and the transport width is only 255cm.
DynamicCenter concept
The boom centre is the single element with biggest impact on boom performance. Delta Force is offered with Hardi’s DynamicCenter solution. A very advanced, but yet simple centre part is controlling the boom movements. A pendulum suspension reduces boom movements to a minimum and the low centre of gravity secures perfect balance for the boom.
A classic dilemma in choosing the concept for the centre is that that a design that works well in hilly condition has difficulties on flat ground and vice versa. And optimal performance when spraying doesn’t harmonise with the requirements of turning fast on the headland.
The DynamicCenter makes it possible to change the characteristic at the centre, so the operator can find the best performance for the terrain and driving behaviour.
The yaw-damping system is new for this type of boom. With its unique design of the boom centre part equipped with hydraulic dampening control of the booms anti-yaw movements (forward and backwards), Hardi has developed and tested large booms that are able to drive at high speed while maintaining an optimum performance of the boom.
Delta Force is now offered as two-folded version with 27m, 28m and 30m and a three-folded version with 32m, 33m and 36m working width – and it and can be used folded at reduced width as well. The partial fold facility is standard and gives a bigger flexibility for the use of the boom.
Together with the boom, a newly developed fluid system has also been introduced. This is called T22, referring to the diameter of the boom tube. The new system supports capacity, serviceability and reliability, and the customer can chose between Triplet and Pentalet nozzle holder.
