Amazone’s new ED03 range of air precision seeders feature all-new hydraulic singling and electric fertiliser metering drives to go alongside the already well-proven mechanical drive via land wheel.
With a view to increasing productivity, the series of changes also sees seeding unit capacity increased by 25%; new wheel track eradicators; three coulter options to suit different soil types; new press roller options; increased fertiliser hopper capacity; and a fertiliser calibration button on the tank, meaning a calibration can be done beside the machine without having to keep going back to the tractor cab.
Individual row shut-off, previously only available on the EDX precision drills, now comes to the whole ED range. Automatic switching on and off of the sowing units can be done via GPS-Switch, and is possible on both hydraulic and mechanically driven models.
Introduced also as an important new feature on the ED is Isobus communication. As with Amazone’s Isobus fertiliser spreaders and sprayers, the Isobus ED can be used with Amatron 3, CCI 100 or Amapad terminals as well as any other Isobus compatible terminal. For those who prefer a simple machine, the machine specific on-board terminal, Amascan+, is the preferred option where operators can still manually switch off individual rows as well as monitoring seed numbers.
