Lemken launched the Solitair 23, the company’s first front tank for storing and metering seeds and fertiliser, at Agritechnca 2015. The unit extends the company’s pneumatic sowing technology products and can be combined with a wide range of other Lemken soil cultivation and sowing implements for numerous applications.
Combined with the new Azurit single-seed drill, which was also launched at Agritechnica, the Solitair 23 can be used for under-root fertilisation, and in conjunction with a rotary harrow and mounted coulter bar can be used for sowing rapeseed or cereals. Additional applications include simultaneous fertilisation when working with a seed drill, catch crop cultivation and basal dressing in soil cultivation.
The Solitair 23 is designed as a pressure vessel for reliable seed transport, allowing large quantities of seeds or fertiliser of up to 500kg/ha to be easily metered even over large conveyor distances. Due to the novel auger metering system, the Solitair 23 has a large 2,000-litre tank, despite having a low overall height. Four metering units ensure the precise supply of seeds or fertiliser, and a special optional extra accessory allows accurate sowing of fine seeds. The optional tank scales provide operators with up-to-date information about current tank levels and application rates.
Seeds and fertiliser are transported to the distributors located on the combination implements via seed hoses routed underneath the tractor. Aternatively, hoses can be routed on the tractor side. Connectors are also available with quick-coupling systems to minimise set-up times. This allows easy coupling to a wide range of cultivation implements.
The sophisticated, compact plastic tank design preserves excellent forward visibility. The tank can be comfortably filled via a wide inlet and filling aids. A storage box is provided on the side for easy and clean storage of any utensils. The Solitair 23 can be combined with a front tyre furrow press or modular case weights to optimise the balance of the tractor/implement combination.
