French farm machinery manufacturer Chevance is seeking UK dealers for its latest high-specification muck spreaders.
The Chevance spreaders include features like: a guiding plate fixed to the chains located on the moving apron floor; an anti-collapse door; and electronic management of the application rate based on the ground speed of the spreader.
Numerous parts are also galvanised, such as the anti-protection grid at the front, guiding plate, door, shutters and beaters.
The accuracy of the spreaders is achieved by measuring the weight of the actual load as well as electronic management of the application rate by managing the speed of the floor chains based on the ground speed. The correct quantity is applied no matter what speed the tractor is moving at. This even allows for situations where traction is compromised, for example on hills.
There are two spreaders in the range: the 15-11 single-axle model with a capacity of 15 cubic metres and a carrying caapcity of 11t; and the twin-axle 20-11 with a 20 cubic metre capacity and payload of 15t.
Recent investments at Chevance include a 700t metal press that can deal with lengths of high-quality Swedish steel up to 8m long, allowing the company to build its spreaders with seamless sides and apron floor that guarantee long-term sturdiness and a lighter structure.
The spreaders also feature four coats of paint: two basic layers of twin-pack epoxy, followed by a steaming process, then two layers of a twin-pack polyurethane, also followed by a steaming process.
Chevance was founded by Robert Chevance in 1965, and is now headed by his son, Bruno. The company operates a 2ha site at Cotes d’Armor, Brittany, where it has 40 employees engaged in manufacturing.
