Since the Kverneland Group took over the Veenhuis forage/loader wagon range, its own loader wagon offering has continued to evolve, bringing impressive features to the market, many of which can be found on two new flagship models that have been recently introduced.
The 70 cubic metre 11070C/CD and 80 cubic metre 11080C/CD models are dual-purpose, high-performance loader wagons that sit at the top of the Kverneland portfolio.
Common to both models is an 800mm diameter, 1.6m wide V-max rotor with 39 bolted segments. Each segment contains three bolted pieces, that allows individual replacement without having to remove the entire rotor.
The rotor also features seven rows of 25mm wide tines, but arranged in a screw-shaped profile to deliver a uniform crop feed across the full width.
There are 40 knives in two sets of 20. This combination affords 38mm and 76mm chop lengths. And to boost convenience, the entire knife bank can be swung out hydraulically from the tractor seat, to the left-hand side of the machine, giving easy access to the knives.
Up front, a 2.1m wide MaxiFlow hydraulically driven pickup is standard. Benefits of using such a drive mechanism include the ability to reverse the pickup from the cab; offer a maintenance free overload protection system; and offer a centrally pivoting pickup for improved contour following.
Using a staggered tine design across the 2.1m MaxiFlow pickup also delivers a smooth flow of crop to the main rotor, compared to more conventional pickup designs. The MaxiFlow pickup also uses a six-tine bar construction and 55mm tine spacings.
Inside the body, four floor chains are used, with hydraulic control for the chain and slat floor conveyor, which also provides the wagon’s unloading system.
Underpinning the entire machine is a 24t ADR tandem bogie fitted with 700/50-26.5 tyres and parabolic spring suspension. Such a combination offers a 60km/hr road speed, where permitted.
While the rear steering axle is a “following” design, there’s the option to upgrade the passive steering to an active, hydraulic-power steered system using two steering cylinders on the drawbar. Four-wheel braking is included as standard, and can be hydraulic or air operated.
Isobus control is also a feature of these new loader wagons, which have prices starting from £117,810 (correct at July 2015).
