New Holland presented its new C Generation compact wheeled loaders at the 2015 Sima Show in Paris. The series sets new standards of productivity, versatility, comfort, all with low cost of operation.
The four-model line-up, ranging from the 4,900kg W50C to the 6,500kg W80C, delivers consistently high levels of performance in every task with the powerful, highly efficient new hydraulic system.
The low cab and articulated steering means the new compact wheeled loaders can move with great agility around the farmyard and into low farm buildings. Operators will enjoy the superior comfort of the cab, maximising their productivity with minimum fatigue, and they’ll waste no time in daily maintenance tasks, as all service points are easily accessible from the ground.
“New Holland’s new range of compact wheeled loaders offers a fresh alternative to the traditional farm materials handling solutions,” New Holland’s Massimiliano Tripodi said. “It’s a versatile, powerful and fuel-efficient machine that can take care of a wide variety of jobs on cash crop, livestock and mixed farming operations as well as energy growing and biomass businesses. It’ll make a great addition to farm fleets across Europe.”
The New Holland compact wheeled loaders, as well as other New Holland Construction products such as backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders, mini excavators and wheeled loaders, will be distributed through the New Holland Agriculture dealer network. The decision to expand the product offering of the brand’s agricultural network with these ranges was taken to meet the growing demand for construction equipment machines that are very well suited for agricultural applications on European farms.
The new C Generation is designed to maximise productivity and minimise the time needed for servicing and attachment changeover. The optimal weight distribution enables the new compact wheel loader to handle heavy loads with efficiency and speed, always with the operator’s safety in mind. For example, at the low end of the range, the W50C TC is designed to lift up to 2,000kg on forks on uneven surfaces.
The TC parallel linkage enables the operator to load pallets or full buckets of grain all the way to the opposite side of the truck, significantly speeding up loading operations.
The articulated joint and oscillating rear axle result in excellent stability. When the front tyres are on uneven surface or hit an obstacle, there’s no bucket roll motion so the full load stays in the bucket and the cab remains vertical. This leads to more productivity and greater operating comfort.
With the low cab profile under 2.5m and maximum width of 1.76m, the W50C is ideal for accessing low farm buildings and narrow feed passageways. The compact dimensions and the narrow turning radius of the articulated steering system make it supremely agile and manoeuvrable.
When switching tasks, no time is wasted as changing attachments only takes a few seconds with the Connect-under-pressure system. The connectors are automatically depressurised and no hand tools are needed. Maintenance is also very quick and easy, with all service points accessible at ground level.
The new hydraulic system delivers all the power needed to operate even the most power-hungry front attachment, while there’s an electrical socket that offers even more opportunities for applications. The High Flow option, available on the W70C and W80C, increases hydraulic flow from 67 to 130 lit/min and enables the use of powered attachments such as snow blowers or fast brooms or brush, contributing to getting the job done faster.
The new compact wheeled loaders feature a four-wheel drive hydrostatic transmission that offers a 33km/hr high-speed option on the W70C and W80C models with two-speed mechanical gearbox. Turtle and rabbit speed can be engaged under load for maximum efficiency.
The new Inch-and-Brake pedal progressively disengages the transmission in the decelerating phase while progressively engaging the brakes, giving the operator millimetre control of the machine at low speeds.
The High-Flow option comes with the new Creep Speed, which provides maximum hydraulic flow at constant speed in the zero to 5.5km/hr range, ideal for tasks such as snow blowing, yard and road sweeping or track maintenance.
The cab of the new C Generation compact wheeled loaders provides a comfortable and safe work environment with features such as the 10 air vents, ergonomic layout, standard tilting adjustment of the steering wheel and an all-in-one joystick with adjustable wrist rest. The joystick features proportional auxiliary control, flow memory button, float function and Forward-Neutral-Reverse switch, putting all the machine’s controls in the operator’s hand.
The cab also comes with ROPS and FOPS Level 2 protection as standard, so that the operator can work safely with confidence.
The new compact wheel loaders run a 3.4-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged multiple injection high-pressure common-rail FPT Industrial engine with waste gate. This feature reduces drops in turbo pressure, resulting in fast engine response under load and superior turbocharger reliability.
The C Generation meets Stage IV emissions standards with a unique maintenance-free solution developed by FPT Industrial that relies on diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) technology. The quantity of particulate matter (PM) is reduced in the DOC through a chemical reaction, and the residual PM is trapped in the PM catalyst. When it reaches a certain quantity in the catalyst, a light passive regeneration begins automatically.
