While the Peecon range of feeder wagons is new to the UK, it has been in production for 18 years in the Netherlands and is already in use in more than 40 countries. There are even Peecon feeders in the USA at work 22 hours/day feeding 1,000 cows!
Weaving Machinery has now brought the feeders here as it says rarely has the need for maximising the economic benefits of a well-presented cattle feed been required more so than today.
Built for reliability and endurance, the Peecon feeders have a five-year guarantee on non-wearing parts. The powder-coating surface treatment inhibits corrosion and extends working life of all sheet metal components. The low maintenance requirement is a key feature as stockmen rarely have the opportunity to service machinery as they would like.
The patented “Generation 3” mixing auger has been developed to give a particularly even feed mix while maintaining a low power requirement. The precision weighing mechanism, a key feature with the current narrow margins in livestock feeding, has been awarded the DLG quality rating in Germany.
Standard equipment includes the double-action mixing auger driven by an industrial type planetary reduction gearbox. The auger carries special long life serrated knives and two adjustable counter knives for a thorough and even mix.
The electronic weighing system has 15 pre-set programmes for ease of accurate mixing with minimum operator input. The unloading doors are hydraulically controlled and deliver to the left or right. A retaining ring at the top of the hopper constrains feed spill when mixing at full capacity. Heavy-duty forklift tyres support the single-axle Eco model. Hydraulic brakes and LED lights are standard across the range.
Weaving Machinery offers three models for immediate delivery from stock:
- The 12 cubic metre Eco, single axle, loading capacity 4.8t, minimum power requirement 75hp, £12,800 ex-works
- The 13 cubic metre, single axle, loading capacity 5.2t, minimum power requirement 85hp, £16,800 ex-works
- The 20 cubic metre Twin, tandem axle, loading capacity 8t, minimum power requirement 90hp, £28,800 ex-works
