Chandlers extends into Bedfordshire with Agco

Chandlers (Farm Equipment) Ltd has extended its franchise area, taking on the Bedfordshire territory for Agco’s Massey Ferguson, Fendt and Valtra brands.

The company, which is a family-run concern, was established in 1935 and now employs more than 250 people at seven depots including Grantham, Horncastle, Spilsby, Holbeach, Barnack, Lutterworth and now Chicksands, near Shefford.

Chandlers began trading from the former Lodgeway Tractors premises on August 1, and has joined forces with the existing Rook family team and its experienced service and parts staff to operate this latest depot.

Following the conclusion of a busy and successful harvest and autumn cultivation and drilling period, Chandlers held an opening evening at Chicksands on November 19. This social gathering proved for customers and staff from the new depot and across the rest of the company to get to know each other.

Chandlers started operating from the former Lodgeway Tractors premises on August 1, 2014.

More than 200 local farmers attended the floodlit even, where they were able to view tractors, balers and machinery from a large number of Chandlers suppliers that was on display both outdoors and in. Customers were able to enjoy a post-season beer, while meeting with the representatives from Chandlers and its major franchises.

On display were a full line-up of tractors, balers, machinery and implements from Chandlers franchised agricultural suppliers: Massey Ferguson, Fendt, Caterpillar, Kuhn, Opico He-Va, McConnel, Richard Western, Standen, Chafer, Berthoud, Monosem, Mzuri and Techneat applicators.

Indoors, there were open evening special offers in the parts department, on genuine Agco parts, toys and merchandise, and from rural parts suppliers SIP and Nilfisk, and a good number of customers took the opportunity to get some Christmas presents organised.
