The Case IH Magnum 380 CVT tractor has won the prestigious 2015 Tractor of the Year title presented at the EIMA International exhibition at Bologna, Italy. The award was determined by a jury of 23 expert journalists representing major European trade publications.
The Magnum 380 CVT won the title thanks to features such as its CVT continuously variable transmission the easy to use multi-controller armrest, the new LED lighting packages, and the innovative new Rowtrac solution that uses a combination of rear tracks and high-tech low-pressure front tyres. This solution provides the tractor with greater traction to transfer power to the ground, with minimal soil disturbance compared to standard single-track machines.
“We’re honoured to have received the Tractor of the Year 2015 award,”Case IH’s vice president for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Matthew Foster, said at the awards ceremony.
The Magnum Rowtrac uses Quadtrac experience and knowhow, and keeps with Case IH’s design philosophy of having four contact points on the ground through a suspended front axle with wheels that reduces soil disturbance and means that drive is not broken when steering, differential locks can still be engaged when additional traction is required.
Several track belt options will be available including 16-inch, 18-inch, 24-inch and 30-inch which can be fitted on a machine for 76-inch, 80-inch, 88-inch, and 120-inch row spacings respectively.
The Rowtrac version of the Magnum is expected to be available at the end of 2015.
