M&M Timber: Fence post manufacturer doubling production

Midlands-based M&M Timber is aiming to double production of its Agricised fencing posts.

Launched about 12 months ago, following years of scientific research and technological development, the company’s Agricised fencing products are proving the most cost-effective, long-lasting solution on the market and carry a no-quibble 15 year warranty with a unique on-line registration for customer’s absolute peace of mind. Plans are in place for an even longer warranty option to be announced soon.

Popular with the farming community for more than 30 years, M&M Timber’s peeled and pointed or machine rounded AgriPost continues to offer a standard low-cost option for traditional fencing solutions, as do the higher quality DuraPost Redwood timbers, which offer a guaranteed service life of 15 years. But it’s the Agricised range that now leads the field and looks the most likely to become everyone’s first choice in long lasting fencing.

“For the first time, our Agricised timbers present the agricultural sector with a middle-ground product that offers top performance without the inherent high-cost penalties that have previously forced land owners to opt for lower grade or inferior installations,” M&M Timber’s managing director, Nigel Poyner, said.

During the Agricised production process, the machine-rounded timbers pass through a purpose-designed incisor process, designed and manufactured in the UK to M&M Timber’s specific requirements and said to be the most technologically advanced of its type in the country. This adds a metre long ground contact band of consistent and uniform incisions, which enable a minimum of 6mm Celcure pressurised preservative treatment penetration to meet Use Class 4 and BS8417 ground contact zone requirements. The process also serves to ease surface tension and reduces the incidence of cracking.

M&M Timber is currently investing in new kilns and manufacturing plant that will enable the company to double its output of fencing products in the New Year.

M&M Timber’s Agricised fencing posts are available from most major agricultural outlets across the UK.
