Norfolk’s PMC Harvester’s has delivered its first AR-4BX self-propelled potato harvester to a Warwickshire-based producer.
The machine harvests four rows at a time and features three webs, axial rollers and the soil and the company’s PSHS haulm separator system.
Potatoes are carried to the top of the machine by PMC’s unique up-and-over ring elevator, featuring self-emptying pockets, before being stored in the harvester’s 14t bunker.
The bunker has a moving floor to carry the crop to the 1.2m wide unloading belt that has a maximum unloading heoght of 4.3m.
Front and rear axle steering assist manoeuvrability, while power for the AR-4BX comes from a 13-litre Stage IIIB Scania engine that delivers 450hp at 1,500rpm.
The harvester has hydrostatically driven Claas tracks on the rear and wheels on the front, with a maximum road speed of 25km/hr.
The machine is fitted with the spacious and luxurious Claas Vista 2 cabin. This, coupled with the open chassis, give
a perfect view of harvesting proceedings.
The AR-4BX is 15.3m long and 4.0m wide. It weighs almost 30t.
