Lehmann Aviation: Reduced price for LA300 drone

Lehmann Aviation has announced a price reduction for its LA300 drone from 4,990 to 3,990 euros ( approximately £3,200 at August 2014) thanks to a production volume increase. The company says the LA300 is now the most easy to use and affordable aerial solution on the market that’s been especially designed for the agricultural and forestry sectors.

The LA300 was launched in 2013 and is a fully automatic personal drone working with a Windows8 Tablet and designed for professional applications such as crops volume and surface calculations (as a great alternative to long and ofter unprecise on-the-ground measurements), aerial monitoring of plantations and livestock, detection of damaged (by pests or weather) crops, and more.

The LA300 is designed to operate carrying a Nokia Lumia 1020 or GoPro Hero3+ camera, or similar. It will fly for up to 15km at speeds of 20-80km/hr, and can deal with temperatures from -25C  to +60C and winds up to 35km/hr.

The drone weighs 950g (including Nokia Lumia 1020 camera) and has a wingspan of 92cm and is 45cm long. The drone is launched by hand and lands in just few meters.

The LA300 is a fully automatic professional UAV and operates in four easy steps:

  1. Download the free Lehmann Aviation software – OperationCenter – to any Windows8 Tablet, Windows Phone 8 or PC.
  2. Make the flight path by simply “drawing” on a touchscreen Windows8 device the area of interest (on the map) and entering the waypoints – after that the software will automatically generate the mission data.
  3. Transmit the data to the drone by Wi-Fi, launch it by hand and wait till this aerial robot will come back (to any chosen point) with HD images or video on the SD card.
  4. Use OperationCenter to GeoTag each image after the flight (with Lat/Long/Alt/Yaw/Pitch/Roll information).

All Lehmann Aviation drones come with one-year warranty and can be regularly upgraded to newer versions.
