IDM Services SW, based at Little Trethew Farm, Horningtops, Liskeard, Cornwall, has taken on the Deutz-Fahr tractor franchise.
Managing director Ian Maddever started the business 10 years ago to major in crop sprayer maintenance, but customer demand prompted a gradual expansion into supplying a wider range of agricultural machinery.
“This is our first entry into the tractor business, but I see it as being a natural progression for our business which has grown so successfully,” he said.
Mr Maddever added that having the Deutz-Fahr franchise, which will serve customers in the East Cornwall and South Devon area, is a major development for IDM Services SW.
“We have a broad range of farming businesses in this area – from small-scale livestock farms to large-scale arable farms, and everything in between – so it’s good to be working with a manufacturer that offers a complete range of tractors with a reputation for both reliability and efficiency.”
It’s early days but the response from his customers has, he says, been positive and encouraging, and he’s looking forward to organising a number of on-farm demonstrations in the near future.
