Leading used farm equipment platform Agriaffaires, which opened its first office outside France in Dublin in August 2013, is moving to larger premises in the city to accommodate continuing growth.
Speaking when the Dublin office was opened, international sales director Benjamin Chérin said the move was aimed at building a closer, lasting relationship with international clients.
“Agriaffaires hired a multicultural team of English-speaking account managers for the British and American markets, as well as native speakers in charge of the Dutch, German and Italian markets,” he added. “All our account managers have developed comprehensive local market expertise.”
This was a major step forward for the French company that has developed a web presence through the Agriaffaires website and its sister site MachineryZone dedicated to construction equipment in over 24 countries and 16 languages. Coming more than 10 years after the creation of Agriaffaires, the decision to open the Dublin office was taken to support the rapid growth of both websites and increases the company’s sales at the international level.
The senior account manager for the UK and Ireland, James Arnold, said that since joining the new office he had really enjoyed promoting and selling the Agriaffaires platform.
“Clients enjoy the rewards that come from having their machines seen by a huge audience across multiple countries,” he added. “Also, in this industry a large percentage of people will not be the most comfortable users of IT. However, clients I deal with invariably report that they’re impressed with how user-friendly the site is and that creating an advert is a simple process. This makes our job so much easier, and is a great selling point.
“Every day, I speak to agricultural professionals and can speak confidently about the power of the Agriaffaires platform. The sellers we bring on to the site report back that they’re able to tap into markets they’ve never reached before.”
Mr Arnold was one of the first members of staff to start work in the Dublin office last year.
“It’s been one of my most satisfying professional experiences to contribute to the success that has seen the office to grow from four to now nine employees,” he said. “We all get along well, and each team member works hard on their market to achieve individual and team success.
“One of my biggest motivators for joining the team was the consistent growth year on year that the company had experienced. And this has continued with the growth of the team and now an exciting new chapter begins when we move into our new offices.”
Agriaffaires is popular with agricultural professionals for referencing and comparing the price of machinery, but what makes the site unique is its international outreach on the web. This is one of the strengths of the company’s approach that stands out from older advertising methods. By constantly updating its database of advertisements, professionals are able to sell and buy farm equipment from across the globe.
