Cox Agri: Tackle flies early and automatically

A warm, wet winter has created the perfect conditions for breeding flies and they have arrived a lot earlier this year. For peace of mind on farm and with the need to tackle fly populations early, SWAT Automatic Flying Insect Killer launched by Cox Agri could be the answer.
SWAT is “on guard” 24 hours per day. It uses an automatic dispenser, along with a powerful, yet naturally derived, insecticidal aerosol spray that can be set to dispense up to 24 hours/day, providing more than a month’s coverage from each can.
SWAT is perfect for use in dairies, stables, kennels, pig houses and poultry sheds. The spray contains the active ingredient Pyrethrin, an extremely potent yet naturally derived insecticide, sourced from a specific strain of chrysanthemum, which is non-toxic and safe for use around livestock.
Cox Agri marketing manager Susan Goodfellow said she was well aware of the importance of getting on top of fly control early in the season.
“We farm free-range laying hens at home and I know all too well, that if you’re not careful, a fly issue in spring can become a major fly problem within weeks,” she added. “Having been involved in the trials for SWAT during the last year, I’ve been amazed by the product’s knockdown power. It controls flies incredibly well within the specified area. And of course it works all day, every day, so you just don’t need to think about it.
“We’ve used SWAT in both the hen sheds and stables to great effect.”
Alarmingly, research has shown that in optimal conditions, a pair of flies mating in April could result in a progeny of 191 quintillion flies by August, a startling statistic and one that shows the benefit of getting fly control underway early.
SWAT provides total convenience; battery powered, the dispensers can simply be mounted on the wall wherever they are needed, fitted with the aerosol can they can be left to dispense, providing automatic insecticidal coverage, all day every day.
SWAT is available from agricultural merchants across the UK.
