Spaldings has announced an extended livestock range that includes products for dehorning, calving and lambing, feeding and handling, as well as products specifically for the dairy sector and hose fittings for wash down areas.
When it’s time to safely remove calf’s horns, Spaldings offer two options: a gas-fuelled option and the new cordless battery-powered dehorner. The gas powered Express Pistol Grip Dehorner can safely dehorn a wider age range of calves than most portable dehorners. While the new ‘Horn Up’ Cordless Dehorner comes with a rechargeable battery, one of the few available on the market powered this way. The average dehorning process with this piece of equipment is cut down to only seven seconds a horn, ensuring as little stress for the animal as possible.
Spaldings now offers two sets of hobbles; adjustable canvas economy hobbles and leather hobbles to offer a stronger, longer wearing solution. The straps are made from two thicknesses of heavy leather sewn together and linked by thick galvanised chain and stainless steel buckles. The new Bagshawe Cow Hoist helps get cows back up on their feet and is suitable for cows up to 900kg with adjustable clamps.
The popular Vink Calving Jack has been added to Spaldings range in two different sizes, 52cm and a wider 55cm width for Continental breads. They both include a quick release and zig-zag type ratchet mechanism. Spaldings also now offers the Kerbl Two-Piece Calf Jack combined with a Moorepark type head for easy handling and optimum grip.
A variety of anti-sucking rings and an applicator are also part of Spaldings’ new Livestock range, including different styles and sizes to make sure there is something suitable for all cattle breads and preferences.
Last but not least, the new livestock range includes lambing ropes, ring applicators, wax marking sticks, castration rings and double bow shears available in two sizes.
“We have tried to ensure that we stock the essentials no matter what type of farm our customers run,” Spaldings sales director, Roger Chase, said. “Therefore, alongside the exciting products already mentioned we have also introduced products such as dairy brushes that are food quality and hose pipe fittings, guns and nozzles suitable for wash down areas. We will continue to expand the range throughout the year.”
