Gaspardo: Lamma launch for Mirka precision drill

Gaspardo’s new Mirka precision drill will get its UK launch at Lamma 2014. The hydraulically folding, eight-row maize drill features a heavier frame that allows bulk fertiliser, microgranule (starter) fertiliser and seed to all be carried on the back, eliminating the need for a front tank.
The rear fertiliser tank has a capacity of 1,400 litres and the Mirka incorporates seeding units with 60-litre hoppers, as well as 300-litre microgranule hoppers where fitted.
With eight rows set at 75cm centres, four large 26.00-12 drive wheels and a 3m transport width, the Mirka is the ideal machine for contractors drilling maize on any soil type.
The Mirka also uses an MTR seeding unit which has arm-strong unit parallelograms, shaft drive and large opening discs, making it capable of extremely high accuracy at speed.
Designed to be used on larger tractors – 170hp or more – the Mirka has the same wing-lift feature found on Gaspardo Manta drills. These wings can be partially lifted at the headland to prevent the outer units catching the ground on turning.
As is standard with all Gaspardo precision drills, the Mirka has a Muller Precimat controller and centre bout markers.
“The Mirka is suitable for all soil types, and its speed and accuracy of drilling,”
Maschio product specialist David Day said. “Coupled with its large hopper capacities, it will be greatly appreciated by contractors. All in all, it’s a very attractive addition to the Gaspardo range.”
The Gaspardo Mirka drill retails at £46,729+VAT (price correct at December 2013).
