Challenger: MT800E Series tracked tractors to launch at Agritechnica

Challenger’s most powerful tracked tractor ever, the MT875E that produces a rated output of 590hp and a maximum power of 640hp, will make its debut at Agritechnica 2013. The new MT875E is one of the four new MT800E Series models superceding the MT800C Series, the new tractors benefit from the 12-cylinder 16.8-litre Agco Power engine and also include the MT845E (494hp max); MT855E (542hp) and MT865E (594hp).
The MT800E Series are the first tracked tractors in the industry to use the newly developed Agco Power 16.8-litre, V12 engine developed and built at Agco’s new production facility at Nokia, Finland. The new engine uses a combination of slective catalytic reduction and cooled exhaust gas recirculation(CEGR) to meet stringent Stage IV engine emission regulations without the need of a diesel particulate filter.
Working in a similar fashion to current EGR, CEGR differs in that engine exhaust gases are cooled before being mixed with air from the main intercooler. Electronically actuated and water cooled, as well as decreasing NOx levels, CEGR also reduces the amount of AdBlue required during after-treatment.

The new MT800E Series tracked tractors feature the new Stage IV compliant Agco Power V12 that delivers up to 640hp.

Unlike the three banks of radiators used on the previous MT800C, the MT800E benefits from a new two-stage design. In addition to improved air-flow and cooling, the compact space saving format provides for easier access for cleaning.
Challenger is the only tracked tractor available with a steerable rear linkage. Currently offered only on the three smaller models, in launching the MT800E Series the steerable rear linkage is also offered on the range-topping MT875E.
The latest version features a new design and positioning of the steering cylinders, resulting in an improved steering angle that leads to better control and stability in wet and dry conditions.
The standard 220 lit/min oil flow from the current range has been retained, but all MT800E Series tracked tractors are available with an optional 322 lit/min system. The higher oil flow leads to faster operation when working with wide hydraulically-operated implements.
In addition to a smoother shifting transmission, Challenger is also introducing other refinements on the MT800E Series to further improve operator comfort, boost performance and increase durability. The MT845E and the MT855E are fitted with the Air Ride Seat, but the Deluxe VRS seat with fabric cover (leather optional) from the current top model is standard on both MT865E and MT875E.

AutoGuide 3000 is a new, integrated and affordable guidance system that’s designed to provide agriculture professionals with the highest levels of accuracy. This latest generation provides easy-to-use, plug-and-play operation and is fully scalable from sub-meter to centimetre accuracy.
The new guidance option operates directly from the 7.4-inch Tractor Management Centre Display, eliminating the need for an additional screen. It’s also possible to engage guidance through the One-Touch headland management system.
A natural evolution of the popular MT800C Series, the new four model MT800E Series goes into production next spring with first deliveries expected in Europe by the summer of 2014.
