Berthoud: Cyclone mixer gets Sima Show debut

Berthoud unveiled its new Clean Sprayer concept at Sima 2013. This makes it possible for operators to use three chemicals simultaneously, or one after the other, using highdosage quantities, without having to get down from the driving seat.
Central to the system is the Cyclone mixer – a Berthoud patent – that
can continuously prepare the chemical mix and spray a homogenous chemical mix throughout the treatment. The dose per hectare can be changed without altering the volume per hectare of sprayed chemical mix.
The sprayer’s circuits consist of short pipes meaning it is able to react much more quickly to respond to variations in dose and speed. Product containers can be installed and removed without touching the active substance, which limits the risk of contamination for the operator.
The cyclone system has been developed to be incorporated on a traditional DPAE regulation sprayer, and that sprayer can continue to operate normally without the direct injection system when required.
The new system is environment-friendly because direct injection reduces to a minimum the residual volume of chemicval at the end of application. This simplifies rinsing operations and limits the quantities of effluents to be removed.
Faced with a multitude of treatments, the Clean Sprayer concept provides the answer to farmers looking for productivity. Using just one fresh water tank, the operator can carry out several treatment programmes by simply by changing the active ingredient containers.
