Two years after County Antrim-basedQuad-X launched its Forager X10 Bale Unroller, the company has now unveiled the Forager X10L – a special version of the Bale Unroller for use with a front loader or telehandler.
The new unroller can be fitted to any front loader or telescopic handler to make lifting, loading and feeding bales a one-man andone-tractor operation. This special loader model means that high stacked bales are no longer a problem: simply disengage the bale bed to reveal the spring tines; drive up to the bale and the Forager X10L lifts it and loads it, all at the push of a lever. Then pick up the loaded bale bed with the tines and you’re all set and ready to feed.
The Quad-X Forager works faster than any diet feeder, which typically takes 30-45 minutes chopping time. Once loaded with a bale, the Forager is instantly ready to dispense the bale faster than a diet feeder so offering massive savings on fuel. You can easily control the amount of silage dispensed with the adjustable output function as standard.
By only feeding the required amount of silage needed on a daily basis, the silage is fresher and more palatable to livestock to give improved intake and more liveweight gain per day. With less selective eating, less silage is wasted – saving you money.
So effective is the latest model of the Forager X10 concept that in a year like this where few bales have escaped the rain it will only take feeding 650 bales for the machine to pay for itself by saving £3/bale in reduced wastage and another £3/bale in increased intake; in some cases this machine will have paid for itself in one season.
Drawing from their agricultural background and wealth of experience, thedesign engineers at Quad-X have developed these machines to specifically work with wet and saggy bales. The new Forager X10L comes with optional unique side rollers to make easy work of unrolling the most misshapen bale.
The Forager X10 is ideal for getting into tight spaces and narrow passageways. It‘s suitable for use with tractors of 75hp-plus, and can feed up both sides of the passage.
