Massey Ferguson: New model tops 7600 Series

The new Massey Ferguson 7626 has been launched to head the brand’s award-winning MF 7600 Series. The new model takes MF’s 7600 tractors to an even wider market, encompassing livestock, arable, contracting and the construction sectors and means the power choice now runs from 140-280hp.
According to Massey Ferguson’s brand development manager for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Scott Campbell, the high-hp MF 7626 is the ideal all-rounder.
“As well as inheriting the family’s excellent power-to-weight ratio and versatile credentials, the latest model brings together the best features of its smaller siblings with significant new technology to boost performance and increase comfort and economy,” he said. “These benefits have already been acknowledged on the MF 7624, which won Machine of the Year at Agritechnica in 2011, as well as numerous other awards from across Europe.”
The 255hp MF 7626 is powered by the well-proven Agco Power 7.4-litre engine equipped with Agco’s advanced Generation 2 eSelective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. With a maximum horsepower with engine power management (EPM) of 280hp, the MF7626 has an outstanding torque level of 1,049Nm, rising to 1,145Nm when EPM kicks in.
This new model takes the MF 7600 offering to nine lightweight and versatile tractors in two wheelbases. The power ranges from 140-175hp for the smaller wheelbase offering and from 185-255hp in the five larger models. All boast excellent power-to-weight ratios and are ideal for all applications from cultivations and crop establishment to top work and haulage.

Massey Ferguson expects the Efficient equipment level to be popular with Europe’s arable farmers.

The new model will be available with three levels of specification – Essential, Efficient or Exclusive – like the other models in the range. The entry-level Essential version offers power as the priority, focusing on excellent cost-effective operation without too much complexity. These models are equipped with a right-hand, console-mounted T-Bar lever and mechanical spool valves.
The likely choice for most European arable and mixed farmers is the Efficient version that delivers the specification these users expect. With a high level of comfort and ergonomic control, these models are fitted with the new Command Control Arm with integral T-Bar lever and comes with both mechanical and electronic spool valves and the option of Massey Ferguson’s Multi-Function joystick. This includes forward/reverse shuttle and gear shift buttons, as well as providing hydraulic controls.

For users that look for and expect the best, most up-to-date technology and automation to help boost productivity and economy, the Exclusive specification MF 7600 Series comes with the new Command Control Arm with Multipad lever and all-electronic spool valves. Once again the Multi-Function joystick is an option that fits to the right of the Multipad lever.
The internally redesigned Dyna-6 gearbox provides a well-proven, robust and refined transmission that offers completely clutchless operation via the steering column-mounted Power Control or right-hand armrest levers. This provides a total of 24 ratios, with six Dynashift (powershift) steps in four gears. An ECO feature allows the 40km/hr or 50km/hr top speed (depending on market) to be achieved at low revs, which also reduces engine noise and fuel consumption.
AutoDrive is standard and is proven to increase workrates and cut fuel consumption during both field and transport work. This makes the MF 7626 ideal for a wide range of tasks, from mowing and foraging right through to planting root crops and construction work. There are two modes that enable the operator to choose the most appropriate setting for the application and their own personal preference. Not only this, but by matching speed with engine revs, torque is converted specifically to be able to transmit the increased power to the ground in the most efficient manner.

The flagship 7626 comes with a choice of cab suspension systems.

Depending on the intended use, there is a choice of cab suspension options. The mechanical version is a straightforward arrangement that employs coil springs and dampers. For those looking for a smoother ride, the hydraulic OptiRide Plus allows operators to adjust the level of damping.
The MF 7626 comes with a high level of automation as standard, starting with the Integrated Tractor Control System that provides electronic spool valve management and wheelslip control as well as many other automatic features. The leading Datatronic Control Centre Display is an Isobus compatible, comprehensive information monitoring and control system fitted as standard on top models and an option on others.
All MF 7600 Series tractors come ready to be fitted with the AgCommand telemetry system to track, monitor and control vehicles using GPS and a mobile telephone link to the internet.
AutoGuide offers integral full auto-steering capability. This can be supplied either as a factory-fit option, or tractors can be equipped ready for retro-fitting.
