Pig welfare regulations that require sows to have access to more living space have resulted in German manufacturer WEDA Dammann & Westerkamp, of Lutten,developing an easy-to-operate freedom of movement and motion pen for sows.
This ergonomic sow pen combines the proven standard element required for farrowing with a new locking mechanism that’s user-friendly for the operator and can be opened or locked with only one hand. Now, the sows can have have more freedom of movement with just one touch.
The door flap construction on the new pen is free from wear and tear so that there are no recurring costs due to wear and tear. Regardless of different floors and unit sizes, the new WEDA system is universally applicable.
