McConnel has introduced a new versatile new flail mower, the Magnum Euro Open. Capable of shredding everything from fine grass to overgrown gorse, this heavy-duty, high-performance machine delivers a package of advanced features that make it one of the most versatile on the market.

The machine has a low tractor horsepower requirement and features hydraulic offset as standard. Otehr features include an adjustable rear gate with five positions to allow operators to customise the mower to suit different operations.
When fully closed the gate delivers a fine-cut finish and generates an exceptional mulching performance that aids decomposition, reduces parasitism and promotes grass regrowth. When fully open, however, the machine can work at higher speed, tackling everything from dense overgrowth to maize stubble. Debris is thrown over the roller so that plant residues are not driven into the soil.

Heavy-duty overrun PTO clutches installed on the drive shaft protect the Magnum Euro Open against overloading and prevent power being transmitted back down the PTO which could damage the tractor, while an energy-efficient double spiral rotor reduces power consumption and the overlap of the flails ensures a high-quality finish and an even distribution of mulch.
The Magnum Euro Open comes with McConnel’s heavy-duty whale-tail flails as standard, delivering a superb finish and possessing the toughness for a long cutting life. The flails are suitable for both fine finish grass cutting and tackling thick heavy growth.
McConnel offers a hydraulic side shift as standard, allowing operators to switch to offset cutting quickly and safely without the need for time-consuming manual adjustments.
There are three Magnum Euro Open models: the 2.3m 230; 2.5m 250; and 2.8m 280 with power requirements of 55hp, 65hp and 75hp respectively.
The three-point linkage mounted machines require 1,000rpm from the PTO and all feature robust steel skids with and easy-to-adjust cutting height. The machine features an atomatic belt tension system for consistent peak performance.
