Standen-Reflex has introduced the FA5-10, a new tractor-mounted precision placement fertiliser applicator that has been made specifically for salad and vegetable crop growers.
The new British-built unit saves producers money by providing accurate placement of synthetic or organic fertilisers via a proven metering unit from a land wheel drive.
The FA5-10 has a stainless steel hopper that’s 2.4m wide, has a plastic cover and has a capacity of about 960 litres. The hopper has internal agitation to ensure the smooth flow of product to the metering units, and a grill is provided to separate damp, lumpy pieces of fertiliser.
Up to five rows of fertiliser can be applied, and metering units are individually adjustable. A simple adjustable positioning spring allows placement of fertiliser exactly where it is required for optimum benefit. Down spouts can be adjusted for different positions, according to grower requirements.
The FA5-10 has an adjustable track width from 1.5-1.8m. A rear buffer bar is fitted that can be used to fit mixing tines, and road lights are standard equipment.
