Kubota’s flagship M130X tractor will be the highlight of the company’s stand at the AgriScot 2011 exhibition on November 16 at Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Centre.
The tractor, which at 130hp is the largest in Kubota’s range, is designed to offer a real alternative to both ‘expensive’ and ‘economy’ tractors. It features a four-cylinder engine, electronic fuelling and engine governing as well as Intelli-Shift 16 Speed transmission with eight-speed powershift and auto field/road modes.
The M130X can also be fitted with the new Kubota LA2253 loader, which has a lifting capacity of 2,100kg to a maximum height of 4.1m.
Like all Kubota equipment, these tractors are renowned for being economical to run as well as affordable to buy, something that the company’s tractor and groundscare sales and marketing manager, David Blackwood, says is a priority throughout the design and development process.
“We understand what’s important to our customers and with fuel costs rising this remains a top priority for Kubota,” he said. “Precision engineering means that we can extract a high horsepower from a relatively small engine displacement.
“But it doesn’t stop there. We then work hard to keep the overall weight of all our tractors as low as possible to ensure optimum fuel consumption; we work on the assumption that farmers can always add weights to gain more traction if they need it, but if a machine’s heavy to start with, the weight can never be reduced and they’ll be stuck with high fuel costs.”
