Fendt: New 700 Vario Series now starts at 145hp

Fendt will introduce three additional models for the 700 Vario Series at Agritechnica 2011. The 714 Vario (145hp), 716 Vario (165hp) and the 718 Vario (180hp) join 720 Vario (200hp), 722 Vario (220hp) and 724 Vario (240hp) announced in the middle of 2011.
The series features the completely newly developed VisioPlus cab, including the award-winning Fendt Variotronic, and the latest engine technology with SCR (AdBlue) technology for exhaust after-treatment.
The 714 Vario and 716 Vario models are equipped with the ML 140 transmission and the 718 Vario and higher with the ML 180. In addition to the 5X/90 and 5X/85 front loaders, the three new models also accept the Fendt Cargo 4X/85.

Another innovation that Fendt will present in the new 700 Vario series at Agritechnica is a parking position for the rear linkage. The trend is heading towards the use of bottom hitches – one reason for this is that they provide more pulling power and better force distribution in the tractor. However, when negotiating curves, the lower links often collide with the drawbar or PTO.
The rear linkage on the new 700 Vario series (also available for the 800 and 900 Vario series) can now be moved into a parking position without the use of tools. This is easily done by moving a locking pin and then pressing the lower links upwards until they latch into place. Since this shortens the lifting struts, there is more clearance between the lower links and the drawbar or PTO (about 15 cm for the 900 Vario). The parking position prevents damage caused by collisions and increases the steering angle, and therefore the manoeuvrability of the entire tractor-implement combination.
