Grimme: Maxtron harvester updates for 2012

Modifications to the hydraulic system, steering, electronics and engine characteristics on the Grimme Maxtron 620 self-propelled sugar beet harvester could help reduce fuel consumption by up to 20 per cent.
The 490hp Mercedes-Benz engine has been equipped with a SCR-emission control and AdBlue injection for 2012 to ensure it meets the latest Stage 3B standards.
A new Vario topper on the Maxtron and Rexor self-propelled harvesters allows tops to be deposited directly in line with the harvester or to the side that is all controlled by the flick of a switch from the cab while on the move.
A unique bunker weighing system for the Grimme self-propelled harvesters has also been developed so that data stored can be shared by the operator with other members of the production process to help with logistics management.
