Claas has extended its range of twin-rotor centre swathers withthe Liner 3100 which has been designed for use on grass, hay or straw.
With a continuously adjustable working width of 8.70-10.00m, the new machine represents a real alternative to the tried-and-tested four-rotor swathers. This large working width also allows the Liner 3100 to gather two swaths from a 7.50m wide combine cutterbar.
To ensure reliability, the Liner 3100 is equipped with the proven components of the Liner range. This includes the lifetime-lubricated and hermetically sealed swath gearbox with a cam track made from wear-resistant spheroidal graphite iron and 14 tine arms with 20-sectioned multiple grooving, which are secured by the Profix tine arm bracket.
The Liner 3100 also has a few tricks up its sleeve when it comes to soil protection. The combination of the gimbal-mounted rotors and the integrated six-wheel chassis as standard makes the machine capable of three-dimensional ground following, which avoids crop contamination. In addition, the connection of the rotors to the outriggers ensures that lifting at the headland is parallel to the ground, thus preventing the tines from cutting into the ground.
Thanks to its continuously adjustable headland lifting of more than 90cm, the Liner 3100 can travel over even the largest of straw swaths without damaging them. The Liner can optionally be equipped with single-rotor lifting and electro-hydraulic raking-height adjustment.
To achieve a transport height of less than 4.00m, three of the tine arms must be removed from each rotor. The holders for these are located right on the swath gearbox, which allows the arms to be removed from one position. To reduce the transport height, the rotors retract hydraulically into transport position and are then secured by a mechanical transport locking device.
In addition, standard integrated wheel weights ensure safety during transport and for the single-rotor lifting option, and enable driving speeds of up to 50km/hr. Positive steering makes sure that the Liner 3100 precisely follows the tractor’s lead. The fully external drive train also enables easy access to the drive shafts.
