Agronomic: Planter range gets Lamma launch

Agronomic’s three-row belt planter can be adapted for two-row operation.

Norfolk-based farm machinery designer, manufacturer and importer Everett Bros introduced the Agronomic range of potato equipment to the UK market at Lamma 2011.

After extensive testing under UK conditions, and some considerable input from the manufacturer in modifying the machinery as a result, the range has already collected a significant number of orders that are currently being manufactured and delivered.

The main machine attracting attention is the brand’s three-row belt planter that also functions as a two-row machine when required. Customers unable to find a suitable three-row planter in recent years had turned to two-row planting, particularly on salad varieties.

The three-row belt planter delivers much greater speed as well as a high level of accuracy. Options available include larger seed hoppers, fertiliser units, powder applicators, hydraulic pressure control hoods, and covering discs or ploughs.

The orders placed to date have all been for trailed machines, the 2,000kg seed hopper and requirement for just a 120hp tractor to pull it being major plus points. The same machine is available in a mounted version, but will require a larger tractor.

Existing Agronomic customers have reported that the planters are simple to maintain with low running costs.
