Hydraulic working depth adjustment controlled from the cab is a new option on the Rapid A 400S for 2011.
This function is also accompanied by Interactive Depth Control (IDC) which allows the depth to be adjusted from the tractor cab while on the move, allowing the drill operator to achieve better establishment, particularly on variable soils.
The hydraulic master-and-slave system gives fast and precise drilling depth adjustment over the full working width of the machine. The central master cylinder controls the drilling depth, while the slave cylinders on the wing sections follow with millimetre precision. The hydraulic system is self-compensating and at every lift to the top position, lifting and calibration occur automatically.
The depth can be altered with 1mm accuracy using the hydraulic level. The main cylinder can then be locked in the new position by double hydraulic valves.
The recommended retail price for the Rapid A 400S with IDC fitted is £52,135.
