Grimme will exhibit its first potato trailer, which features an unloading belt for gentler handling, at Lamma 2011.
The new trailer utilises existing technology from Grimme’s daughter company, Spudnik, based in America.
The Multi-Trailer is, in effect, the top half of a trailer unit that can fit on to a European-type chassis. Available as 19 or 35 cubic metre models on double or triple axles.
The Multi-Trailer’s unique design makes it very stable, while its low weight and high payloads help to minimise compaction and maximise fuel efficiency. A double drive pulley on both sides of the unloading belt provides a safe, non-slip and high-capacity discharge.
Hydraulically foldable full length side panels (one as standard, two optional) and the tapered bulk bed sides help to minimise drop height ensuring better handling and therefore less bruising. A large rear door allows for fast and smooth unloading. The unloading belt negates the need to tip and therefore allows full trailers to manoeuvre inside low-roofed buildings with ease.
The Multi-Trailer 190 and 350 cost £29,125 and £36,120 respectively, and will be available for the 2011 season.
