Deutz-Fahr: Agrofarm TTV430 brings CVT transmission to 110hp power range

Lamma 2011 will provide the first opportunity for visitors to see the new Deutz-Fahr Agrofarm TTV430 tractor with its continuously variable transmission (CVT).
This is the first time such a transmission has been fitted to a multi-purpose tractor in the 110hp power range. Featuring a very simple and reliable construction, the new CVT gearbox offers all the advantages in terms of precise speed control of the CVTs used in high-power tractors.
Due to its revolutionary kinematics system, the high efficiency of the TTV430’s transmission is comparable to the level offered by conventional mechanical transmissions. The design of the CVT also enables the tractor to quickly reach speeds of up to 40km/hr with the engine running at only 1,800rpm, which means fuel consumption is reduced by a significant amount.
Tractor speed is controlled by means of a joystick which, when selecting zero speed, can be used to bring the tractor to a stop without having to apply the brakes.
The Agrofarm TTV430 is powered by an electronically managed Deutz four-cylinder Tier III, turbocharged and intercooled engine rated at 109hp.
An impressively large 55-degree steering angle provides a high degree of manoeuvrability in all types of field applications, while the CVT makes it possible to adjust and control speeds to match operating conditions.
PTO speed is independent of tractor speed, which allows Agrofarm TTV430 operators to alter the forward speed yet maintain a constant speed at the PTO. This is especially useful for jobs such as baling or fertiliser spreading.
The new tractor is also equipped with a service/parking brake called Park-Brake. This system is used to apply the parking brake when the vehicle is parked and hydraulically releases the service/parking brake when the engine is turned on.
