Claas dealer Seward’s newly redeveloped branch at Sinderby, near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, was officially opened on November 17. The impressive new purpose-built facility, which is located right alongside the A1, provides Seward and its staff with one of the most modern dealership premises in the UK.
The redevelopment of the Sinderby branch is just part of an ongoing investment by Seward in its dealership premises. In the New Year a completely new branch will be opened at Catfoss, near Beverley, to replace the Hull Bridge branch that was closed earlier this year. The company’s Wilberfoss branch is also currently undergoing extensive refurbishment.
In his speech to the near 300 customers who attended the official opening, Claas UK’s Clive Last highlighted the success that Claas has enjoyed, both in the UK and globally. This, he said, was largely down to the company being family owned which, like many family-owned farms, was prepared to make long-term plans and investment.
The impressive new facility at Sinderby includes an impressive showroom area and extensive parts storage space, while the modern workshop area is able to accommodate the largest Claas combines. In addition, the building also includes a function room, capable of seating more than 100 people, that will be available for use by outside agriculturally related businesses.
The building incorporates the very latest IT technology that will enable Seward to provide customers with the highest level of service. The new IT system includes a direct link into the UK Claas parts holdings at both Saxham and Newbridge, near Edinburgh, plus an additional link into the Claas Worldwide parts distribution centre in Germany. This ensures that in the event of Seward not holding the part, it can be sourced overnight from either the UK or German parts centres.
