Vaderstad has launched its largest and heaviest Carrier with integral crossboard, which has been designed specifically for working on ploughed land or direct into stubbles at speed and has an impressive 9.25m working width.
Weighing nearly 10t, the Carrier 925 has the same folding mechanism as the 12.25m version without crossboard, which gives it inherent strength and effective weight. Each of its 72, 450mm conical shaped discs delivers an impressive 135kg of working pressure.
The crossboard consists of a number of sprung steel tines – linked together with a stabiliser bar of high-quality spring-steel – that are designed to aggressively crush coarse furrows. At the tip of the Crossboard tine there is an angled wearing plate that can be replaced when worn. The Crossboard is now available on all Carriers up to this new working width.
The Carrier 925 is also equipped with an electric depth stop, which means that the toolbar returns hydraulically to the pre-set depth when it is lowered back into work. This is all achieved without leaving the cab. During stubble cultivations the Crossboard can be folded away out of work.
The press-hardened 600mm diameter steel roller with scrapers behind is designed to aggressively crush and press crop trash into the soil. Rubber suspension helps extend the life of the frame and roller. Each roller is 50cm wider than the working width of the discs to ensure perfect levelling.
The Carrier 925 with System Disc Aggressive and Crossboard Heavy has a price tag of £67,645 (June 2011).
