Stronga has completed a review of both the UK and European versions of the popular HL180T, 18t telescopic hooklift trailer. Building on extensive knowledge and experience of building complete hooklift trailers from the ground up, as well as strong relationships with existing customers, the design team has refined and upgraded the HookLoada’s design.
The goal was to deliver the best hook trailers in the market today, while retaining simple well proven engineering. Stronga’s direct contact with operators allowed them to get quality user feedback on trailers, and provide customers with more useful features.
Through extensive, clever use of high-strength materials in key areas of the hook equipment and chassis, the tare weight of the trailer has been reduced while delivering increased strength leading to longer service life. All HookLoada components have been fully considered to ensure maximum uptime, optimum productivity and lower service costs. High quality components fitted to the long life structure leads to high resale values lowering the cost of ownership for our customers.
To improve trailer performance and stability both on and off road, the ride height has been revised to keep the centre of gravity as low as possible whil retaining the HookLoada’s good ground clearance. The axle and suspension configuration provides operators with the smoothest possible ride. On the road the driver has more control and comfort for enhanced safety at high speed.
The Stronga design team has retained the HookLoada’s 52-degree tipping angle for excellent heaping ability, and the refined ride height has helped to reduce the pick-up angle when loading containers onto the trailer.
While direct oil supply and control via tractor spools valves is the most economic way to control the HookLoada trailer, Stronga now offers the option of remote control to operate all trailer functions safely anywhere around the trailer. The user can ensure no-one is in harm’s way and can make the best choice of positioning for optimum visibility when loading and unloading.
Combining the improved 18t HookLoada and correctly specified containers with medium- or high-horsepower tractors adds efficiency and lower costs to transportation systems in the following ways:

- reducing fuel usage per tonne transported;
- optimising labour and tractor hours;
- multipurpose ability leads to maximised usage; and
- lower service and ownership costs.
