One of Kuhn’s Merge Maxx belt windrowers has been at work in the UK for the first time.
The machine, which was operating in a crop of lucerne near Dorchester, Dorset, has a 9.1m pick-up width and five different windrow delivery options.
An alternative to rotary rakes, the Merge Maxx offers high-capacity work rates, while the conveyor belt delivery system results in less aggressive handling of the crop. This is particularly beneficial with crops such as lucerne and red clover that are brittle and prone to harvesting losses.
