The new 113hp New Holland T5070 is now available in the UK with retail prices starting at about £41,000. The tractor sits at the top of the T5000 series and has a class-leading low 37.6kg/hp power-to-weight ratio that is ideal to perform mixed farming applications in a more productive way and reduce soil compaction. This new entrant also boasts a NEF engine from Fiat Powertrain Technologies that combines proven design and the most modern engine technology.
The NEF Tier III, turbocharged 4.5-litre engine with advanced intercooling has an improved power rating of 113hp with an increased maximum torque of 445Nm at 1,330rpm, 600 hour oil changes and proven best fuel consumption that ensures the T5070 is the most up-to-date engine offered in this class of tractor. As with other New Holland tractors, it will run on 100% biodiesel without modification.
The transmission has been significantly upgraded to cope with the extra horsepower on the PTO, while retaining reliability. Transmission drive damper, gears, bearings, and pinions have been upgraded, the PTO clutch reinforced and the braking capacity has been improved.

There are now five models in the T5000 Series: the 76hp T5030; the 86hp T5040; the 97hp T5050; the 106hp T5060; and the 113hp T5070. They are ideally suited to customers that need a relatively compact machine, with cab height as low as 2.54m on 16.9R34 tyres and the whole tractor as narrow as 2.01m.
There are five main transmissions available, with a transmission upgrade option on all T5000 series tractors. Shuttle Command 12×12 is the ideal choice for general applications, while Power Shuttle 12×12 allows for fast direction changes without using the clutch. Shuttle Command 20×12 is also available for specific applications and the transmission offering is complete with the 24×24 Dual Command with Power Clutch allowing up to eight clutch-pedal-less gear changes.
A feature of the 24×24 Dual Command transmission is the ability to adjust the aggressiveness of the power shuttle. Three modes – soft, mid and fast – are available and can be set by the driver before work begins to suit the task at hand. A software update, this is also available to owners of existing T5000 tractors.
New for the whole T5000 range is a 20×20 Powershuttle with Super Creeper offering forward speeds as low as 0.249km/hr. This new transmission is also available with electronic draft control giving high productivity and versatility when full precision is required.
The T5070 has been designed to take a load of up to 7,400kg replacing the previous top gross vehicle weight on the T5060 of 6,800kg.
