New Holland will use the Lamma Show to reveal the UK line-up of T6000 Series models for 2010. Changes to be announced include higher maximum power outputs for Range Command and Power Command tractors and three new LS models.
The 201hp maximum power TS6090 Range Command and Power Command models that were announced at Agritechnica at the end of last year offer a class-leading power-to-weight ratio of 28kg/hp, but now the three other models in the range have had their maximum power outputs increased by changing the power boost available via the engine power management system.
The T6050 now offers rated power of 127hp and maximum boosted power of 163hp, while the figures for the T6070, T6080 and T6090 are 142hp/178hp, 155hp/193hp and 165hp/201hp respectively. With the extra power available for PTO, hydraulic and transport applications now as much as 38hp, the Range Command and Power Command tractors have had to have their cooling packs revised. Only the sharpest-eyed New Holland enthusiasts will notice that this has resulted in the bonnet sitting 6cm higher than before.
The T6000 Range Command and Power Command tractors have also been improved in terms of operator comfort. All models ordered with electro-hydraulic spool valves are now supplied with the Sidewinder II armrest. Electronically adjustable to ensure a comfortable driving position, this incorporates the CommandGrip multifunction handle, an integrated control panel and the IntelliView III Touch-screen interface that provides the quickest way to adjust tractor settings such as remote valve flow rates or engine speed memories.
The IntelliView III screen is also now available on tractors with mechanical spool valves to allow the operators to monitor performance information and alter tractor settings.
Tractors fitted with the Sidewinder II armrest now come with an exhaust brake as standard on both 50km/hr models and 40km/hr models fitted with air brakes. A feature commonly seen on HGVs, the exhaust brake closes a valve on the exhaust manifold to create back-pressure in the combustion chamber to create a braking effect. This reduces the need to use the service brakes and is especially useful for controlled hill descents with a heavy trailer or implement.
The cab noise level has been reduced to 70dB(A) in all T6000 Power Command and Range Command models, and a new cab suspension system has been introduced to improve operator comfort and to reduce the cab roll experienced in previous models when crossing slopes.
With an eye on precision farming, these T6000 tractors can now be ordered with a factory fitted IntelliSteer option to make it easy to fit New Holland’s auto-guidance system.
Three new T6000LS models
For the New Holland’s T6000LS tractors, the new decade means more choice. The LS concept was to offer high performance features, normally only found on high end arable tractors, to the dairy and livestock farmer. Large hydraulic pumps, auto four wheel drive and enhanced comfort levels benefit a loader tractor just as much as an arable tractor.
For 2010 this popular range has been expanded to five models and now includes six-cylinder machines. Along with the new models, there are also more options including Dual Command transmission, cab suspension on Dual Command models and a front-axle suspension option for Electro Command transmission models.
As well as the T6020LS and T6040LS models that started the LS range, new T6010LS, T6050LS and T6070LS models are now available giving a choice of power outputs from 101-141hp. All models apart from the T6040 feature mechanical engine management. The T6050LS and T6070LS tractors both feature six-cylinder engines.
Featuring low-profile cabs and a 113 lit/min closed-circuit hydraulic pump, the LS models are already proving popular as loader tractors with about a third of models leaving the assembly plant at Basildon fitted with a loader kit.
