At Agritechnica 2009, Lemken presented its DLG Silver-medal winning automatic top link coupling system with two essential advantages from coupling systems seen in the past.
On the one hand, the innovative QuickConnect system provides enough space between tractor and implement to attach all items such as PTO shaft, hoses, cables and top link conveniently and safely. On the other hand, it moves the implement automatically to a position closer to the tractor, allowing heavy mounted implements with a large tank volume to be safely used with fewer front weight.
At Agritechnica 2009, Lemken showed the QuickConnect system for the first time with the new Sirius mounted field sprayer.
With QuickConnect, the tractor is reversed up to the implement leaving enough space for easy and fast attachment of all connections between tractor and implement. The top link is attached to the QuickConnect, but lower links are not attached. Subsequent steps are executed without any problem from the tractor seat. Reversing further, the driver connects the lower link hooks. The top link is positioned and locked in place automatically without need for further intervention from the operator.
Uncoupling the implement from the tractor, is done as conveniently in the reverse order. The driver releases the top link from the tractor seat, lowers link arms, and moves forwards before leaving the tractor to easily detach all other connecting elements.
With the QuickConnect system, the need for a heavy coupling triangle is avoided.
Advantages of the innovative Lemken top link coupling system can be clearly seen with field sprayers or fertiliser spreaders, whose heavy weight demands close coupling. In its working position, the mounted implement is positioned very close to the tractor, providing a positive centre of gravity. With the new Sirius mounted field sprayer, for example, it is possible to drive safely with a high tank volume and reduce front weight requirement.
