The Kuhn Group has introduced new triple mowing combination, the GMD8830, into its range of mowing machines aimed at contractors and larger farms alike. This new mowing combination with a working width of 8.20-8.74m (depending on the overlap chosen with the frontal mowing unit), achieves a high level of working output while requiring only limited tractor power from 120hp.
The rear units weigh less than 1,700kg. They can be used with medium-power tractors and are therefore particularly useful for working on slopes. There is also a distinct reduction in fuel consumption.
For optimal adaptation to working conditions the GMD8830 provides three overlap widths: maximum overlap to avoid dragging on slopes or for taking tighter bends or minimum overlap for using the entire working width most efficiently.
The GMD8830 is equipped with Kuhn’s Optidisc cutter bar that has many advantages. These include differentiated centre distances between divergent and convergent discs for good cutting quality under all conditions, lifetime lubrication with no oil change needed. The Protectadrive safety device is also fitted, and there is easy access to disc and intermediate gearwheels. The GMD8830 is available with or without quick-release knife mounts.
In the event of impact with an obstacle, the mowing units can swing backwards separately before returning to their initial position once the obstacle has been negotiated, non-stop, so that working output is not compromised.
