Belarus revealed its prototype MTS3023 diesel-electric tractor and the new 355hp MTS3522 at Agritechnica 2009.
The diesel-electric tractor, which won a silver medal for innovation at the event, features a 234hp six-cylinder Detroit Diesel engine and a generator set built in Russia.
Still very much a prototype, the company hopes to build five for testing during 2010 if it can find sufficient interested buyers to try them out.
The tractor features a diesel-electric drive with modern control electronics that is claimed to offer good efficiency levels. The front PTO is powered electrically and its rotation speed is largely independent of the internal combustion engine.
Up to 172kW of electric power can also be passed from the internal DC high-voltage network to external machinery and equipment.
