Fendt: New 800 Varios have more power and advanced technology

Fendt will present five new models from 200-280hp in its 800 Vario range at Agritechnica 2009. The completely new vehicle concept unites the components of the company’s most-sold tractor model in 2008, the 820 Vario, with the power and technology of the award-winning Fendt 900 Vario tractor range. The company sets new standards with the x5 comfort cab, completely new electronics and controls, as well as the first AdBlue engine technology on the market that complies with emissions standard Stage 3b/Tier 4 interim.
With the new 800 Vario, Fendt presents a completely newly developed electronics concept, the Fendt Variotronic. The new terminal, available in two different versions, features a user-friendly interface with a flat menu hierarchy and practical touch technology. For the first time tractor operation, Isobus implement control, VarioGuide automatic steering system and VarioDoc documentation have been consolidated in one terminal and are operated using the same operating logic.
The entire vehicle concept of the new 800 Vario is designed for uncompromising efficiency and maximum performance. The experience gathered from 100,000 Vario transmissions has made it possible to further improve it through the latest engine technology and a completely newly developed drive train and thus achieve the best possible efficiency. In particular, the newly developed, wet multi-disc brake in the rear axle, which only rotates at the same speed as the wheel and permits outstanding deceleration values while minimising losses. That ensures high efficiency along with reduced fuel consumption, even at higher speeds.
The well-known Vario advantages, the hydraulics with modern load-sensing pump and a delivery capacity of up to 193 lit/min, also guarantee low fuel consumption. Just like the 1,000E economy PTO, they permit reduced engine speeds and thus lower fuel consumption.
The six-cylinder Deutz engine with 2,000-bar common rail high-pressure injection system already complies with emissions standard Stage 3b/Tier 4 interim one year before required by law. Despite reduced nitrous oxide and particulate matter emissions, which are achieved through the integrated AdBlue technology, fuel consumption as well as CO2 emissions have been reduced by 5%. The emissions after-treatment with AdBlue urea solution takes place after the combustion process, which guarantees very high efficiency and performance of the engine. In addition to precise injection, the exceptional dynamic behaviour of the Deutz engine with a 6.06-litre cubic capacity is a result of the new turbocharger with electronically controlled wastegate. The consumption of AdBlue is almost 5% of the diesel consumption and therefore amounts to less than 2% of the overall fuel costs.

The new 800 Vario not only stands for high performance and high payloads, but also for exceptional versatility. It has no trouble mastering heavy-duty field and transport work whilst also offering optimal manoeuvrability. The 800 Vario, with a maximum speed of 60km/hr, which it already attains at a fuel-saving 1,700rpm, outstanding driving comfort and optimum driving safety, is especially convincing for transport work. The new front axle suspension concept features the Fendt Stability Control (FSC), which guarantees stability when negotiating curves. The robust cast half frame, which enables a permissible overall weight of up to 16t, is the basis for the high stability of the chassis and high payload reserves. At the same time, the maintenance-free braking system, comprising two integral multi-disc brakes at the rear, and a disc brake on the cardan shaft at the front, provides driving safety as well as exceptional deceleration. The broad application range of the 800 Vario is expanded through the versatile mounting areas, powerful working hydraulics, comprehensive tyre and ballasting concept as well as the optionally available reversing driver station.
The x5 cab from Fendt, tried and tested in the 900 Vario range, makes perfect working conditions reality. Exceptional all-round visibility with low sight lines as well as tinted front and side windows guarantee relaxed working conditions. Automatic air-conditioning, three-point cab suspension and a completely new electronics and operating concept, create a pleasant driving environment. The overall suspension concept is further optimised through standard front axle suspension, an optional pneumatic cab suspension as well as seat suspension, which is optionally available with active suspension.
