Amazone will present its new flagship model in the UX range – the UX 6200 Super with a capacity of 6,600 litres – at Agritechnica 2009.
The UX range, with boom widths of between 18-40m and countless optional extras that provide a comprehensive solution for any professional farmer, has been fully restructured. This means that both Special and Super versions with varying equipment specifications will be offered in future: Special and Super versions of the UX 3200 and 4200 with tank sizes of between 3,200 and 4,200 litres will be available, whereas only Super versions of the UX 5200 and 6200 will be available.
The most significant difference between both versions is the pump specification: the UX Special is equipped with a single pump unit and the UX Super, with a larger 430 or 530 lit/min twin pump unit for all tank sizes, provides huge flexibility and represents a safe investment for the future. The Super version is recommended in situations where a higher pump output is required due to larger working widths (more than 24m) or higher spray rates (more than 250 lit/ha).
Amazone has also come up with a range of further innovations with the new UX 6200 Super flagship model: the largest Amazone sprayer can be driven problem-free at 50km/hr with the tank full thanks to its optimised weight distribution. And all that is achieved using 520/85R42 tyres that are designed for crop protection, rather than large-volume wide tyres. This is made possible by a drawbar load of 2.6t using the standard bottom hitch plate with ball head attachment. This relieves the load on the axle and wheels of the sprayer and, in particular, boosts the traction of the tractor.
Despite the larger tank volume, the UX 6200 Super with a 40m boom and tallest tyres (520/85R46, 2.05m diameter) is only 3.7m high and is therefore significantly under the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulation limit of 4m. However, the narrowest track width limit is 2m. The professional axle steering, rear trailer towing hitch, GPS-Switch or HighFlow equipment (that doubles the maximum application rate) are of course available for the UX 6200 Super as optional extras.
A range of further innovations that improve the performance of the machines will be fitted to both the UX 6200 Super and the other Super models from the autumn of 2009. The maximum available suction flow will be increased to 800 lit/min with the new generation of injectors. To enhance operating reliability and prevent excessive speeds that could damage the diaphragms, UX Super models are also equipped as standard with a pump speed sensor.
The optional hydraulic pump drivehas also been radically reworked to incorporate one solution that responds to all demands on the pump drive and boom or steering hydraulics – a special load-sensing hydraulic system (Profi-fold LS). This means that Amazone now provides a hydraulic pump drive that is not dependent on tractor size thus dispensing with a complex on-board hydraulic system, with slide-on pump on the universal joint shaft, and oil cooler. A significant advantage of the hydraulic drive is that the pump can always be operated in the optimum speed range independently of engine speed.
